Had to repipe after sewer line repair, anyone else go through this?
We just wrapped up a nightmare project that started with a simple clog and ended with digging up part of our front yard. The sewer line had roots and a crack, so we had that fixed, but then the plumber said the galvanized pipes inside were so corroded that we'd be back to square one in a year. So we ended up doing sewer line repair and repiping services in Palo Alto all at once. It was expensive and messy and we lived with a portapotty for a week, but I'm glad we did it because the water pressure is amazing now and no more rusty water. The thing is, I never even thought about the pipes inside until the sewer issue forced the conversation. Did anyone else end up repiping when they thought they were just getting a drain cleared? How did you decide to go with copper vs pex? I'm second guessing that choice now even though it's done.
